Papua New Guinea has refused an application to extend mining at Barrick's Porgera gold mine, Prime Minister James Marape said on Friday.
The Sinivit gold mine is located in the Baining Mountains of the Papua New Guinea Gazelle Peninsula in the East New Britain Province, 50 kilometres south-south west of Rabaul.
